BaT Auction: 1996 Ford F-250 XLT Power Stroke 4×4

This 1996 Ford F-250 XLT is an extended-cab 4×4 pickup that is finished in white over grey cloth and powered by a 7.3 Power Stroke turbodiesel V-8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. This truck is equipped with the camper package, trailer tow package, a 3.55 limited-slip rear end, air conditioning, and keyless entry as well as aftermarket accessories such as a spray-in bed liner, pillar-mounted gauges, a Sony CD stereo, and a transmission cooler. The truck was initially registered in Maryland and spent time in California and Nevada prior to the selling dealer’s recent acquisition. This F-250 has 117k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a handwritten service log, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title.

The truck is finished in Oxford White (YZ) and equipped with an 8′ long box, chrome bumpers, a receiver hitch, running boards, a sliding rear window, dual fuel tanks, and towing mirrors. A body-color spray-in bed liner was applied in September 2007. The selling dealer notes scratches on the tailgate, and close-up photos of the finish and trim are presented in the gallery below.

Polished 16″ forged alloy wheels are mounted with 265/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that show 2021 date codes. The front axle is equipped with automatically-locking hubs, and the truck features power-assisted steering and brakes.

The cab features Opal Grey cloth upholstery with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a folding center armrest and storage console, an aftermarket Sony CD stereo, air conditioning, and cruise control.

The two-spoke multifunction steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 3,400-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. Auxiliary gauges for exhaust temperature, boost pressure, and transmission oil temperature have been installed on the A-pillar. The digital odometer indicates under 117k miles.

The 7.3-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 was rated at 225 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque when new. The selling dealer reportedly performed an oil change and a fuel filter replacement in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional underbody photos can be seen in the gallery below.

Manufacturer’s literature is included along with a handwritten service log.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Maryland, California, and Nevada.
