This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is finished in Guards Red over Linen leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Features include a black removable Targa roof, fog lamps, black-finished 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, power-adjustable seats, air conditioning, and a Sony CD stereo. The car was reportedly delivered new to Porsche Highland Park in Illinois, and resided in North Carolina and Indiana prior to being acquired by its current owner in 1996. This G50 911 Carrera Targa is offered on consignment by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Indiana title.
The body is finished in Guards Red (G1) and features a black removable roof panel, fog lamps, US-specification impact bumpers, and a black roll hoop. The selling dealer notes paint chips on the front bumper and mirrors. The hood struts were replaced in August 2021.
Black-finished 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels are wrapped in 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted ventilated discs at all four corners. The parking brake shoes and CV boots were replaced in August 2021.
The cabin features Linen leather upholstery on power-adjustable seats along with matching door panels, center console trim, and carpets. Equipment includes a Sony CD stereo system, air conditioning, cruise control, Porsche-branded floor mats, and power windows. Wear is noted on the front seats along with discoloration on the door armrests and handles.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 75k miles. The speedometer assembly was replaced in 2014, and total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 3.2L flat-six was rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. Service performed in August 2021 is said to have included an oil change, injector and intake cleaning, and replacement of the crankshaft position sensor and engine cover shocks.
