BaT Auction: 31k-Mile 2005 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG

This 2005 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and finished in black over Anthracite AMG leather. Equipment includes chrome-finished 18” Lorinser wheels, bi-xenon headlights with washers, a power glass sunroof, burl walnut interior trim, multi-zone automatic climate control, Keyless Go, climatized dynamic front seats, and COMAND infotainment with navigation and Bose audio. The car spent time in New York, Idaho, and North Carolina before being acquired by the selling dealer in November 2021. This S55 AMG has 31k miles and is offered by the selling dealer in New Jersey with manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.

The car is finished in Black (040) and features AMG bodywork including a revised front bumper and side skirts. Additional exterior equipment includes a power glass sunroof, bi-xenon headlights with washers, rain-sensing wipers, and polished quad exhaust outlets.

Chrome-finished 18 Lorinser wheels are mounted with 245/45 front and 265/40 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires showing 2014 and 2013 date codes, respectively. The car is equipped with an Active Body Control (ABC) suspension, and stopping power is provided by AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. A brake fluid flush is said to have been performed in preparation for sale.

The cabin features climatized dynamic front seats trimmed in Anthracite AMG leather (281) with a matching dash, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a COMAND infotainment system with navigation, a Bose sound system, multi-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless Go, an electric rear-window blind, burl walnut trim, and AMG-branded floor mats.

The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 31k miles.

The supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have included a coolant flush and an oil change.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery below.

Manufacturer’s literature and two fob keys are shown above and will accompany the car.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in New York, Idaho, and North Carolina. A failed emissions test is noted in January 2013, and the car has since passed an Idaho emissions test.
