This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Signal Red over gray leather and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, a black soft top, painted 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Becker Grand Prix cassette stereo, and central locking. The car has spent most of its life in Michigan, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in August 2021. Subsequent service has reportedly included replacing the steering gearbox, lower ball joints, engine mounts, and transmission mounts. This R107 shows 40k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve in South Carolina with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and an Ohio title.
The car is finished in Signal Red (568) and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a black convertible soft top. Tears are present in the soft top. The Carfax report shows an accident in August 2006 with “very severe damage” occurring to the rear of the car. The seller reports that the trunk lid was repainted, and photographs of paint-meter readings can be seen in the gallery below.
Silver 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels were repainted and are wrapped in 206/65 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires. A fully independent suspension and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes were standard equipment. The seller reports that the lower ball joints were replaced in 2021 along with the steering gearbox and damper.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in gray leather along with a matching center console and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo, an alarm system, and power windows and locks. The selling dealer reports that the air-conditioning compressor, dryer, and receiver were replaced in 2021.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 40k miles.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Service in 2021 is said to have included an oil change and replacing the center drag link, shifter bushings, engine mounts, transmission mounts, and subframe mounts.
