This 1930 Ford Model A pickup has been refinished in blue over black and is powered by a modified 201ci Model B inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit, a Riley two-port cylinder head, a two-barrel Weber carburetor, MSD ignition, an aftermarket radiator, electric cooling fans, a wood-floored bed, a black soft roof, 16″ wire wheels, and side-mounted spare tires. The truck was refurbished approximately 20 years ago, the seller acquired the vehicle in early 2021, and subsequent service has included installing an electric fuel pump, replacing the starter, changing the fluids, flushing the coolant, and greasing the chassis. This Model A pickup is now offered with six removed wire wheels with tires, spare parts, its yellow and black license plates, two car covers, literature and handbooks, and a California title in the seller’s name.
The body is said to have been removed from the frame before being refinished in blue with black fenders and red accents. Spare tires are mounted on both front fenders, and the wood-floored bed has been redone. Other features include wood bed-side extenders, a soft roof, and turn signals. The seller notes a ding at the right-rear corner that has been touched up, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.
Black 16″ wire wheels are mounted with 6.00-16 front and 6.50-16 rear Firestone tube-type tires. In 2021 the shocks reportedly were topped off and the chassis greased, at which time some of the grease fittings were replaced.
The interior features a bench seat with black upholstery complemented by matching door panels and a ridged rubber liner that covers the floor. The interior fan is vacuum-operated. The seller notes that the vacuum system for the windshield wiper is disconnected, and the horn is operated via a foot switch but not the steering-wheel button.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation that includes a speedometer, an ammeter, and a fuel-level gauge in addition to an aftermarket tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 7,500 miles, nearly 500 of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown, and the seller notes that the thermometer on the radiator grille is disconnected.
The modified 201ci Model B inline-four is said to utilize a Weber two-barrel carburetor, a Riley cylinder head with overhead intake valves, MSD ignition, a high-torque starter, a Brassworks radiator, and dual electric fans. Work in 2021 included changing the oil, transmission and differential fluid, flushing the coolant, and replacing the lower radiator hoses as well as installing an electric fuel pump and a replacement starter.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual gearbox with a Laycock de Normanville Model J overdrive unit. The seller states that the transmission is a 1939 Ford component and notes rust on the chassis.
Various manuals and books, a set of six wire wheels, a radiator stone guard, two car covers, a radio, a removed starter, and other parts depicted in the gallery will accompany the vehicle.
The seller states that the serial number on the truck’s frame is inaccessible, and the VIN listed on the title (A3904113) is consistent with a 1930 Ford Model A.
